What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese energy healing technique that promotes deep relaxation and supports the body’s natural ability to heal. Life force energy - also called chi, ki, or prana flows through and around all living things. Stress, trauma, and daily life can disrupt this flow, leading to emotional, mental, or physical imbalances.
Reiki helps restore energy flow, encouraging balance and overall well-being. It works on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels without needing to pinpoint or analyze the root cause.
Reiki isn’t tied to any religion or belief system, making it accessible to anyone, regardless of background. You don’t need to believe in Reiki for it to work - just an open mind and a willingness to receive.

How I got started.
Hi, I’m Alana.
I’m a holistic energy work practitioner, Reiki Level II practitioner, Certified Self-Care Coach, dog mom, wife of 10 years, and a recovering perfectionist.
In 2019, I had a quiet but undeniable wake-up call. I realized I wasn’t living the life I once promised myself as a little girl. On the outside, things looked fine. On the inside, I felt disconnected, restless, and tired of carrying so much.
Like many people who care deeply about doing life “right,” I tried everything. Diet changes. Therapy. Journals filled until my hand hurt. Self-care routines. Coaching. Astrology. Energy healing. Retreats. Numerology. Doctors. I kept thinking the next thing would finally fix me.
Some of it helped. Briefly. But I kept finding myself back in the same patterns.
What I eventually saw, with a mix of compassion and honesty, was this: I was outsourcing my healing. And while support is important (I still work with coaches and counselors), I didn’t yet have tools that helped me understand and work with what was happening inside my own body.
That shifted in 2023 at a trauma-healing retreat in Washington State. Through qigong, I learned how to work with the energy and sensations I’d been feeling in my body my whole life but didn’t have language for. Instead of analyzing or overriding my experience, I learned to feel it. And things began to move.
From there, I went deeper. Reiki, somatic work, and nature-based practices helped me understand the connection between stress, emotion, and the nervous system in a grounded, real-life way. I received my Reiki II attunement through Usui Tibetan Reiki and later deepened my practice through one-on-one mentorship with a local shaman.
This work didn’t give me a quick cure. It gave me a way back to myself.
I originally studied energy work to support my own healing. Over time, I felt a clear pull to support others. I do this work because I know how heavy self-healing can feel, especially when you’re capable, self-aware, and exhausted from trying so hard.
I’m not here to promise breakthroughs or sell certainty. I’m here to offer what I once needed: a grounded, supportive space where your body can feel safe enough to soften, where insight can land, and where change doesn’t require forcing or fixing yourself.
I specialize in supporting adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, burned out, or disconnected from themselves. Many of my clients are women without children, women with school-aged kids who are becoming more independent, or empty nesters navigating a new chapter.
